Prisons Week

October 12th-18th

A national week of prayer for all those affected by criminal justice

Published 22nd September 2025

Langley Trust is a sponsoring organisation of Prisons Week. We work with people with convictions 52 weeks a year and are delighted to join with like-minded organisations, churches and individuals each year to lift up people affected by prisons to God in prayer.

Have a watch of the 2025 campaign video – God’s word is not chained.

This year Prisons Week celebrates its 50th year by remembering once again that, no matter what your circumstances, or the place in which you stand, God’s word is not chained.

At Langley we will be praying throughout our services and teams as well as hosting online prayer calls. Join us online on Teams at 10am on Thursday 16th October: click here to join

Many things in life can bind us, fear, anger, abuse, rejection or shame.

And this is as true for those held in prison as those who are not. And unless that bondage is addressed the consequences of this can be very dark. Hopelessness and helplessness can overwhelm, destructive behaviour continues unchecked – an imprisonment of body and soul. But we believe that God desires to break those chains and to set people free. To restore in them the image of God. And he does this through his Living Word, Jesus.

More About Langley

For over 65 years Langley Trust has been supporting people with convictions to transform their lives – promoting rehabilitation, preventing crime, and reducing re-offending. As a Christian charity working across England, we believe everyone deserves another chance.

We have countless stories of God working in the lives of our clients, and our staff. See some examples below of our stories and how you can get involved with our work. Take a look around our website or get in touch for more details.
