Summer Appeal 2025

Thank you for your continued interest in and support for our work.

Every day, we walk alongside people with convictions, offering them housing, care, and support as they rebuild their lives. But we know that true transformation goes deeper than a roof over someone’s head — it starts in the heart.

The night before I met our chaplain I was going to throw a towel in with my life. I was done.

This is why our chaplaincy work is so vital.

Across more than 100 properties in over 20 local authorities, our volunteer chaplains regularly meet with clients to pray, listen, and offer spiritual guidance. They bring hope to those who feel hopeless, and light to those walking through darkness. But the need is growing — and we need your help to meet it.

With the early release of thousands of prisoners across England and Wales, the demand for support has never been greater. Many of those leaving prison face homelessness, addiction, and significant mental health challenges. Without strong support networks, they are at high risk of reoffending and without breaking this tragic cycle, victims, offenders, and their communities all suffer.

We remain convinced that sharing the love of Christ is the best way to help our clients transform their lives.

Staff provide practical and emotional support, but unlike many organisations in our sector, we ensure that clients receive loving spiritual support too. Our managers and deputies are all practicing Christians and our chaplains provide a range of support, helping clients explore their faith, heal from past trauma, and discover the love of Christ.

Coming from where I was to where I am now, since I found faith, it empowered me, it’s changed my life around.

This support includes simply listening and talking, a range of courses, Bible study groups, praying with our clients, encounter days, or when the time is right, helping them to safely engage with church communities. But with limited time and resources, our volunteer chaplains can’t always meet the growing demand.

That’s why we’re asking for your support.

Our goal is to increase the number of lives transformed by expanding our chaplaincy team. We’ve already raised over £32,000 — but we are looking to raise a further £47,949.

Your gift today could help us:

  • Hire part-time Lead Chaplains to oversee the volunteer team
  • Increase chaplaincy hours across all services and employ paid chaplains at dispersed services
  • Offer regular encounter days and retreats to renew and strengthen clients, staff and chaplains
  • Provide training and resources to ensure high-quality spiritual care

This is more than a programme — it’s a ministry. And it’s transforming lives.

Together, we can offer hope where it’s needed most.

Will you stand with us today? Any support will help us reach more people with the love of Jesus, reduce reoffending, and build safer, stronger communities.

Easter is a significant time for Langley as we reflect on the forgiveness and hope found in the cross and resurrection.
