Easter 2025

Christ is Risen

Published 17th April 2025

‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!’ – Luke 24: 5b

Easter is a significant time for Langley as we reflect on the forgiveness and hope found in the cross and resurrection. Our core value is to be Christ-like, and at the cross, Jesus demonstrated the core of what it is to be Christ-like… to sacrificially give of oneself out of service and love for others.

This Easter Rev Pen Maginn, our Head of Chaplaincy, reflects on what Easter means for her and the work of Langley, its staff, volunteers and clients.

Easter Reflection

By Pen Maginn

In one of Langley’s Lent prayer meetings, we were thinking about what impact it has on us that Jesus Christ sacrificially laid down His life for us. It got me thinking about the radical difference that the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ make, not simply to us personally, but across the work of Langley.

The cross perfectly demonstrates the lengths God would go to because He loves and values every single individual. The resurrection shows, beyond doubt, that there is no obstacle, however insurmountable it may appear, that cannot be overcome by the power of God. Christ conquered death itself.

At Langley, this matters to us, because we choose to see every person through God’s eyes, no matter who they are or what they have done. We view each person as uniquely precious and loved.

As well as that, we are convinced that Jesus Christ gives us the power to overcome any obstacle that might appear to be insurmountable to living a new life. What a message of hope we have for our clients!
